Valve repair centers to repair the Steam Deck for free

After Google with their Pixel 6 and Samsung for their S22, it's Valve's turn to propose solutions to repair their Steam Deck.

For the blow, the brand wants to go further and finally opens Steam Deck repair centers. If you ever have a problem with your console, whether it's a simple hardware replacement or a repair, Steam Decks can now be sent to one of Valve's repair centers.

If your problem is covered by the warranty, your repair will be totally free. If your problem is not covered by the warranty, Valve will contact you to propose the repair of the device for a certain amount of money depending on the problem encountered.

If your problem is out of warranty, Valve gives you the opportunity to recover your console.

Valve has published several cases where these repair centers come into play:

If the buttons on your Steam Deck start to have problems (drifting stick, sinking buttons, etc.), you can contact the Stream Support which will guide you to identify the origin of the problem, but also allow you to send your machine more easily to a center.

If the problem is due to an accident outside the warranty, for example, if you drop the console, the warranty will not be taken into account. You can still contact Steam support to find out more and send your console to a repair center, but it will cost you a certain amount depending on the situation. Valve says that the support service is still available, even if your console is no longer guaranteed.

Is the Steam Deck the most easily repairable console?
